A few Stragglers

This past weekend was a four day one for our family and I had all sorts of dreams of what we were going to do.  They were cut a little short on Friday night when Josh had to go to the ER (and had to drive himself as it was late, or early I guess and we didn't have anyone to stay with the kids...) with horrible pain.  He ended up having an intestine infection and has had rough go of it for the past few days.  It is so hard to sit by and watch someone hurt and not be able to do anything about it.  The boys have been so cute and so worried about him.  He is feeling a little better today.  We did have a fun little celebration on Sunday for Hunter and McKay's birthdays that will be this next week.  Grandma and Grandpa Happy (that is what my kids call my parents, they couldn't say my mom's name "Kathi" and it turned into happy and now they are both happy.  And they are too. :)  came over along with some fun uncles, aunts and cousins.  I haven't edited them yet, so I thought I would post a few straggling pictures

I love how much McKay looks up to his brothers.  He sure loves them and will copy both what they say and do.  In the morning when it is cold they will cuddle up with their new fluffy blankets and go sit by the fireplace.  The morning above Lincoln was doing it, so McKay went and got his blanket and went and sat by the fire.
Whenever it is too quiet I know that McKay is doing something he shouldn't, and I am usually right.  Somehow he found a red marker and decorated his tummy. He was seriously proud of it too.
...and as I was taking this picture, and he decided to show me that he also decorated his hands.

He seriously is the cutest thing to me.  I love the conversations that I can have with him as he has learned to say a whole bunch of words.  I love that he can ask me to "hold ya" (pick him up).  His favorite thing to do is to come and ask me to "run" with him.  We just run around in a circle in the middle of the living room.  Usually the other boys will join in and Josh does it with him quite a bit as well.  It is definitely his favorite game and he laughs like crazy as we all run in a circle.
The other night the boys went to bed really easily (which I assure you isn't usually the case).  I just figured they were really tired.  When we went to make sure all was well with them before we went to bed, this is what we found.  This is their huge shoe bucket (that is great for a long list of other things and has taken a severe beating in its lifetime) and Palmer decided that it would be really great to sleep in.
And I think he enjoyed every second of it.
We finally opened up Hunter's present from Christmas.  The poor thing had been put on top of the fridge when he got home from school the day they got out for Christmas break (we couldn't put it under the tree or McKay would have opened it), and was forgotten.  It was fun to open though and it was such a darling little painted pasta ornament that has been lovingly packed away with our other Christmas decoration until it's debut on the tree next year.  I love school Christmas presents (and apparently we had pizza that night...Hunter usually has something left over on his face.  I like it :)

Tomorrow is McKay's 2nd birthday.  I'd better go and blow up some balloons :)
