Hunter and McKay got the chance to celebrate their birthdays with some of the Palmer side of the family on Sunday. Our kids call these little pre-birthday celebrations their "fake birthdays". I wasn't sure how to merge the cake, but Hunter picked chocolate and we decided that McKay would probably like that too (trying to find out the preferences of a 2 year old is tricky business!)
Hunter is turning 6 tomorrow and McKay turned 2 today. Having two birthdays in two days is pretty wild. It is important to Josh and me that they both feel special individually. Josh totally changed up the crepe paper we had decorated with for McKay's birthday because he didn't want Hunter to feel like it was left overs.
Me being the awesome planner that I am, forgot to buy birthday candles (not the first time this has happened...) We got out the lighter and had them each blow it up figuring we would make it up to them on their birthdays.
They got some great gifts from the family.
We sang to them our special rendition of "Happy Birthday" and then had them blow the lighter out again.
I think McKay's favorite thing about the night was the fruit snacks put on his gift by Aunt Michelle. He loved his gifts though, as did his brothers (Palmer tried to claim his Webkin, and is now dying for one).
McKay and Hunter are sure lucky to have so many wonderful people who love them.
My parents gave Hunter this great carry on suitcase and a pillow case with his name on it. He (and I) are thrilled with the suitcase as he can take it with him on a little vacation that we are planning in the near future. Hunter is pretty excited to go on a plane for the first time and he will even have his own suitcase!
It was a wonderful night! I now need to go an blow up more balloons for Hunter's birthday. :)

Wasn't it cute?! My mom did a great job for Hunter's birthday. He drags his suitcase around everywhere.
